"Unlikely Allies in the Academy Part IV: Let’s Talk”
– Part IV Facilitated by the Office of Diversity and Inclusion April 18, 2018 | Lunch 11 - 11:30 a.m. and Program 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. | Gateway Room 43/47
Join the Office of Diversity and Inclusion and your UNT colleagues for continued dialogue based upon the book Unlikely Allies in the Academy: Women of Color and White Women in Conversation. This session is one of several providing space for honest conversations about coalition building at UNT, and will build upon the presentations by previous authors of the book. Essential questions include, what barriers exist to authentic coalition building among white women and women of color? What intragroup topics should be addressed before women of color and white women can create effective and authentic relationships? How can we truly hear and validate others’ experiences and perspectives to build trust?
